Intisaf: 15% Yemenis suffers disability form

Some 15 percent of the Yemeni people suffers a form of disability, Intisaf organization for woman and child rights said on Tuesday, as 4.9 million Yemenis have been disabled following the aggression and siege.

With the spread of landmines across the war-torn country, the actual figure could be by far higher, the organization added in a statement seen by Saba on the World Disabled Day.

The disabled are most affected by the persistent aggression, particularly amid damaged infrastructure including hospitals that severely limited access to healthcare and humanitarian assistance, the group said.

Over 16,000 women and children are in need for kinetic rehabilitation, and over 460,500 people need certain devices to help them move, according to Intisaf.
