Cancer Control Fund launches fifth national blood cancer awareness campaign

The Cancer Control Fund launched today in Sanaa the fifth national blood cancer awareness campaign under the slogan “Your health is the meaning of your life.”

The campaign, which is implemented during the month of December, aims to raise the level of community awareness about leukemia, the most prominent factors that cause it, and ways to prevent it, in order to reduce the rates of infection and deaths resulting from it.

The Chairman of the Fund’s Board of Directors, Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Madani, that the campaign comes within the framework of a series of awareness campaigns implemented by the Fund in order to limit the spread of cancerous diseases in order to achieve control, of which awareness is the basis and most important element.

He pointed out that the awareness campaigns implemented by the Fund come as a sense of social responsibility towards patients and providing them with psychological and moral support.

He said, “Leukemia does not mean death, and it is treatable and curable if it is discovered at an early stage – through constant attention to health and regular periodic examinations,” indicating that a person’s neglect of his health makes him vulnerable and easy prey not only to cancer, but also to many diseases that may It leads him to death.

Dr. Al-Madani pointed out that knowing the factors that cause leukemia is considered the first step towards preventing the infection, as knowledge of the danger makes a person more careful to avoid it and exercise caution.

He called on everyone to interact, contribute and participate in the campaign in the spirit of teamwork and love for society by spreading awareness to the largest possible number of individuals and segments of society. “The more spread is achieved, the greater the benefit will be achieved.”

The head of the Cancer Control Fund explained that this campaign is the fifth in a series of awareness campaigns about the most common cancerous diseases in Yemen, which the Fund is implementing within health awareness plans and programs for members of society and within the framework of efforts made to transform pain into hope, especially in this exceptional stage that the country is going through as a result of aggression and siege.
