Two Ships Divert Course Away from Red Sea After ‘Israeli’ Vessel Seized by Yemen

Two commercial ships diverted their course in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden managed by Ray Car Carriers, Glovis Star and Hermes Leader, according to shipping data and British maritime security company Ambrey.

 

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced today, Sunday, the seizure of an Israeli ship through a military operation by the naval forces in the Red Sea.

According to a statement delivered by the spokesperson of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e, the operation was carried out ‘in accordance with the directives of the leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi, may, and in response to the demands of our great Yemeni people and all free people of the nation.

The statement clarified that our naval forces escorted the Israeli ship to the Yemeni coast, emphasizing that the handling of the Israeli ship’s crew was conducted in accordance with the teachings of our Islamic religion.

The statement renewed the warning to all ships belonging to the Israeli enemy or dealing with it, that they will become legitimate targets for our armed forces.

The statement affirmed the continuation of military operations against the Israeli enemy until the aggression on the Gaza Strip and the crimes against our Palestinian brethren cease, pointing out that the Zionist entity is the one threatening the security and stability of the region and international waterways.

The Yemeni Armed Forces concluded the statement by stating that if the international community is truly concerned about the security and stability of the region and avoiding the expansion of the conflict, it must stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza. It clarified that operations only pose a threat to ships of the Israeli enemy and those owned by Israelis.

It should be noted that the operation to seize the Israeli ship took place shortly after the announcement by the Yemeni Armed Forces that they would target all types of ships bearing the flag of the Zionist entity, operated by Israeli companies, or owned by Israel. It called on all countries in the world to withdraw their citizens working within the crews of Israeli ships and to avoid shipping cargo on them.

Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that the ship seized by the ‘Houthis’ is owned by Israeli businessman Rami Ungar, who is closely associated with Mossad.

They considered the seizure of the ship in the Red Sea off the coast of Yemen as an extremely serious event, stating that ‘the Houthis have a plan to attack everything associated with Israel and disturb it.’ The Israeli media also acknowledged that the operation of seizing the ship by the ‘Houthis’ poses a problem for Israeli trade that is difficult to confront.”
