Yemeni Center for Human Rights Condemns US-Saudi Aggression’s Crimes Against Sa’adah Residents

The Yemeni Center for Human Rights has strongly condemned the direct targeting of civilians in border areas in Sa’adah governorate by the US-Saudi aggression, involving artillery shelling and various types of bullets.

The latest incident resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to five others, including a woman and an African immigrant.

In a statement, the center reported that the total number of victims due to the US-Saudi aggression’s targeting since the truce was announced in April 2022 has exceeded 520, including women and children. The most recent incident was the aggression coalition’s crime yesterday, resulting in three civilian deaths and a woman being injured.

The statement called on the Security Council to take decisive actions toward achieving a sustainable ceasefire, emphasizing that this can only be accomplished by halting the aggression, ending the siege, and holding the perpetrators of the aggression’s crimes accountable, which have resulted in over 44,600 victims, primarily women and children, as a result of direct targeting.

Since March 2015, tens of thousands have lost their lives due to the siege and the closure of Sana’a airport, along with the prevention of the arrival of essential supplies such as food, medicine, and oil derivatives. This constitutes the largest humanitarian disaster in the modern era, recognized by the United Nations and its affiliated organizations.

The Yemeni Center for Human Rights’ statement called on the Islamic and Arab nations, governments, organizations, and individuals worldwide to condemn these crimes and take various actions to halt the aggression coalition’s crimes and its militias against the Yemeni people.

On Tuesday, Anis Al-Asbahi, spokesperson for the Yemeni Ministry of Health, confirmed that since the beginning of the truce, 2,328 Yemeni citizens have become victims of Saudi bombings in the border areas of Sa’adah.

Al-Asbahi stated, “The Saudi bombings in Sa’adah’s border areas have claimed the lives of 307 Yemeni citizens and left 2,021 others injured.” He also emphasized that among the victims of the direct bombings by the US-Saudi aggression are innocent children and women.

Al-Asbahi clarified that the casualty count does not include African migrants, as hundreds of migrants have tragically lost their lives due to direct bombings by Saudi border guards in the northern Yemeni governorate of Sa’adah.
