President Al-Mashat inaugurates charity projects for Zakat Authority worth more than 34 billion riyals

Mahdi Al-Mashat, Chairman of the Supreme Political Council, opened on Sunday the charity projects implemented by the General Authority of Zakat, worth more than 34 billion riyals.

His Excellency the President, accompanied by the Director of the Office of the Leader of the Revolution, Safar Al-Sufi, and the Chairman of the General Authority for Zakat, Shamsan Abu Nashtan, listened to an explanation about the components of charity projects that target various segments of society according to the eight Zakat channels.

In addition, His Excellency the President today inaugurated the project to distribute food baskets to poor families, which is implemented by the Authority and targets 20,000 families with a value of 486 million riyals in the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Al-Dhalea, Dhamar, Sa’ada, and those unable to work in the capital secretariat.

His Excellency the President expressed his happiness at the launch of the projects of the General Authority for Zakat in conjunction with the celebration of the ninth anniversary of the September 21 Revolution and the anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday.

He pointed to the importance of humanitarian projects, including the charity project worth 34 billion, the benefit of which reaches the deserving poor and needy in the various governorates of the Republic.

President Al-Mashat considered the creation and establishment of the General Authority for Zakat to be one of the fruits of the glorious September 21 Revolution.
