Press conference by Yemeni Federation of Trade Unions on state employees’ salaries

The General Federation of Yemeni Trade Unions organized a press conference on the issue of salaries of state employees and retirees, which has been interrupted for five years.

During the conference, which was attended by the head of the Federation of Trade Unions, Ali Bamhisoun, the Secretary-General of the Federation, Abdul Karim Al-Atna, praised the decision of the leadership in Sana’a to prevent the government allied with the aggression forces from exporting oil due to its revenues not being allocated to the benefit of employees and retirees of Yemeni Republic.

The Secretary-General of the Yemeni Workers Union explained that the United Nations has also abandoned its role in supporting the union’s efforts to restore the disbursement of salaries. He called on all labor union frameworks to confront the external enemy that continues to cut salaries and to stay away from blind fanaticism.

In the conference, which was attended by a number of local and foreign media representatives, the head of the Union’s Relations and Media Department, Yahya Al-Tabib, appreciated the role of the national media in conveying the suffering of the Yemeni people in North, South, East and West Yemen.

He pointed out the importance of the press conference to inform public opinion about the issue of the salary that the so-called mercenary government committed to after it transferred the functions of the Central Bank to Aden.
