Rights Group Condemns Kidnapping Family in Taiz by Saudi-mercenaries
Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms condemned on Sunday the brutal attack on a family in Taiz Governorate, Al-Shamayatain District, by the mercenaries of the US-Saudi aggression.
The organization stated in a statement that military crews raided the house of Fahmy Qassem Noman in the city of Al-Turbah Jabal Sabran, which is under the control of the occupation forces.
“They kidnapped and imprisoned his family, consisting of his wife, three minor children, and his older brother, who suffers from chronic diseases. They terrorized his 92-year-old mother, leaving her alone in pain after her family members were kidnapped in front of her,” the statement said.
Insan Organization expressed its strong condemnation of this abhorrent criminal act and disgraceful behavior, which is a flagrant violation of international laws and humanitarian norms.
It called on the concerned authorities in the US-Saudi aggression-held areas in Taiz to immediately release all members of the kidnapped Noman family and hold everyone involved in their kidnapping accountable.
It called on the international community to play its role in the face of what the Saudi-mercenaries are doing in areas under their control in Taiz, to prevent the recurrence of such crimes and violations, to provide protection for civilian citizens, and to secure roads from outlaw gangs.
The crime of kidnapping the Noman family is part of a series of crimes committed by the Saudi-mercenaries against civilians in Taiz, the last of which was on August 24. 17 civilians were killed and wounded, including eight women and four children, in artillery shelling of the mercenaries in Al-Akhdu’a area in Maqbana district.
On the 7th of August, a woman was killed by sniper fire of the aggression’s mercenaries in Al-Shaqab area of Sabr Al-Mawadim district.
The Saudi-mercenary attacks on citizens in Taiz Governorate continue, in an escalating manner, during the recent period, in light of the international silence.
