Ministry of Human Rights condemns crime of aggression forces in Maqbanah
The Ministry of Human Rights condemned in the strongest terms the crime of the forces of the aggression coalition, which targeted Al-Ikhdu’a area in the Maqbanah district of Taiz province Thursday evening, and resulted in the killing and injuring of 17 citizens, most of them children and women.
The ministry indicated in a statement – received on Friday by Saba – that this crime shows the extent of the brutality of the aggression and its mercenaries, and their disregard of all principles, humanitarian laws, treaties and charters, and constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
The statement pointed out that the targeting of residential areas with artillery and heavy shells by the coalition and its tools on an almost daily basis raises the death toll of children, women and civilians.
It held the Saudi-US Aggression Coalition criminally and legally responsible for this crime, and all crimes that target civilians by killing, displacing, and looting their property.
The statement denounced the continued international silence towards these crimes and their perpetrators, and the suspicious roles of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, which turns a blind eye to monitoring and documenting these crimes, and drops them from its reports, and continues to practice misleading and distorting facts, which provided cover for the perpetrators of these crimes and it increased their perseverance and their commitment to committing it, without caring about accountability.
The Ministry of Human Rights renewed the call for a transparent, impartial investigation of all crimes committed in Taiz province against civilians, in a manner that guarantees criminal accountability for coalition leaders and all those found involved in these crimes.
It also called on humanitarian and human rights organizations to assume their responsibilities and intervene to stop these massacres, provide medical and relief assistance to the injured and affected, and work to expose the crimes of the aggression coalition and hold those responsible accountable.
It expressed condolences to the families of the victims who fell as a result of this crime, and all the crimes that preceded it in Taiz province.
