Technical Committee for Human Rights discusses human rights & humanitarian issues
At its meeting on Wednesday chaired by the Minister of Human Rights, Ali Hussein Al-Dailami, discussed human rights and humanitarian issues.
The meeting reviewed OHCHR’s report for 2022.
Committee members stressed the need to focus on the points contained in the High Commissioner’s report and to prepare appropriate observations and comments, to be shared as symposiums and conferences in conjunction with the periodic meeting of the Human Rights Council.
The meeting endorsed the appropriate responses and comments to the queries contained in “Human Rights Watch”memorandum, provided that the organization is addressed with them in due course.
The members of the Committee were briefed on the latest report of Human Rights Watch, which revealed the overwhelming facts of the crimes and violations of the Saudi border guards in the deliberate killing of African migrants, stressing the importance of coordinating with all authorities, especially Sa’ada governorate, on the crimes of the Saudi regime towards illegal African migrants.
The meeting touched upon the possibility of holding a press conference of the Committee and the local authority in Sa’ada on exposing the crimes of the Saudi regime against migrants in the border areas where those crimes had occurred.
He endorsed the allocation of the next session to discuss the preparation and preparation of replies, comments, observations and facts, which set out the facts of violations and crimes committed by the states of the aggression coalition during 2022, which had not been addressed in the OHCHR report, and the misstatements in the Office’s report.
At the meeting, the Minister of Human Rights urged the members of the Committee from relevant State institutions to coordinate between the bodies represented in the Committee, thereby contributing to the integration of human and human rights work, finding remedies for practical problems and coming up with a unified programme of work.
The meeting endorsed the minutes of the previous meeting and directed those charged with following up on its outcome.
