US insists on Continuing Suffering of Yemeni People
Leading the aggression against Yemen is becoming clearer to be by the United States. It showed that by obstructing any agreement that might lead to reaching a solution, after the statements of American politicians concerning the issue of disbursed employee salaries.
On Wednesday, the US envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, described the cut salaries of employees in Yemen as “complicated.” This came in a press statement published by the Emirati newspaper, Al-Ittihad.
Lenderking said that the United States is working to reach a new, more comprehensive truce agreement in Yemen, explaining that some of the issues being discussed, such as how to ensure that all public sector employees receive their salaries, which is complicated.
He pointed out that the process of disbursing salaries could have implications for the future of Yemen.
Observers and human rights activists expressed their astonishment about the effects that the disbursement of salaries could threaten the future of Yemen, especially since the issue of salaries is purely humanitarian and should not have been bartered for military and political matters.
Yemeni human rights activists accuse the United States of causing the suffering of Yemeni employees as a result of cutting their salaries as part of the starvation war waged by the US-Saudi aggression against the Yemeni people outside international and humanitarian law.
Sana’a seems to have accurately drawn the features of ending the post-truce period, and sent warning messages to Saudi Arabia and the rest of the coalition countries, led by the United States, stating that Sana’a is ready for war in case the peace efforts failed and the tragic for the Yemeni people continued.
President Mahdi Al-Mashat, head of the Supreme Political Council, revealed on July 30 that negotiations between Sana’a and Riyadh had stalled and reached a dead end due to the Saudi procrastination and evasion of disbursed salaries.
In his speech, Al-Mashat warned against the American and foreign military presence in the Yemeni strategic islands and sea lanes, indicating that the Sana’a will work in the coming days to develop a military arsenal, and in the future the Armed Forces will conduct maneuvers on some Yemeni islands.
