Al-Hamli meets new WHO representative in Yemen
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli met on Wednesday with Arturo Pesigan, WHO New Representative to Yemen.
The meeting discussed ways of enhancing the level of cooperation between the Council and the Organization and working to implement projects that contribute to alleviating the worst human suffering in the world experienced by Yemeni people as a result of aggression and siege for eight years.
In the meeting, the Secretary-General of the Humanitarian Affairs Council affirmed the Council’s keenness to provide facilities to the mission and its staff, enabling them to perform their role to the fullest.
He pointed to the need for coordination between the Council and the World Health Organization to facilitate the implementation of the organization’s interventions and activities in Yemen, in a way that achieves the common goal of humanitarian work.
In turn, the representative of the World Health Organization affirmed the organization’s continuation in implementing projects that alleviate the human suffering experienced by the people of Yemen, especially the health sector, by working jointly to ensure the success of humanitarian interventions.
The meeting was attended by the head of the Department of International Cooperation, Ali Al-Kahlani, and the directors of international organizations, Turki Jamil, and the director of projects and planning, Jamal Breah.
