Ministry of Fisheries condemns throwing of waste by coalition’s ships into waters of Gulf of Aden
The Ministry of Fisheries condemned throwing hundreds of tons of waste into the waters of the Gulf of Aden by ships affiliated with Saudi-led coalition.
The ministry revealed that many dead livestock have floated in the coasts along the region, which poses a great threat to public health and the marine environment.
It emphasized that the pollution of Yemeni waters with waste thrown by commercial and international ships is an irresponsible act that causes the destruction of the Yemeni marine environment, and leads to harm to marine life and fishermen.
It called on the relevant international organizations to hold accountable those who carry out these attacks and to contribute to protecting marine waters from it.
The Ministry of Fisheries affirmed its position rejecting these irresponsible behaviors that violate international and local law, calling on the UN and all international organizations to assume responsibility in protecting the marine environment and the interests of fishermen.
