Health Ministry in Sanaa promotes for investment opportunities in health sector

The Ministry of Public Health and Population in Sanaa organized on Monday an introductory meeting on investment opportunities in the health and pharmaceutical sector.

The investment opportunities in the health sector, such as equipping specialized centers for heart, gastrointestinal, liver, kidney, urology, ophthalmology, retina and corneal transplantation, orthopedic surgery, joint transplantation, and pediatric surgery were reviewed in the meeting.

In the meeting, the Supreme Political Council’s member, Muhammad Al-Nuaimi, praised the Ministry’s efforts to advance the health and medical sector in light of the current conditions that Yemen is going through due to the aggression war and blockade.

Al-Nuaimi praised the successful collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the private sector to improve health services.

He urged the national capital to take advantage of these investment opportunities as well as benefit from natural materials, rocks, and medicinal herbs in the pharmaceutical industry.

For his part, the Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, stressed the importance of the meeting to introduce investors to investment opportunities in the health and pharmaceutical sectors.

An introductory meeting on investment opportunities in the health sector

The Minister of Health noted that the national economy is losing millions of dollars annually due to treatment abroad and the import of medicines and medical supplies that can be produced locally.

Dr. Al-Mutawakel urged the private sector and pharmaceutical importing companies to focus on local pharmaceutical manufacturing, as they have the support of the Supreme Political Council and state agencies.

In turn, the Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Mutahar Al-Marwani, and the Chairman of the Supreme Authority for Medicines and Medical Supplies, Dr. Ali Abbas, indicated that the meeting is a continuation of the Ministry of Health’s efforts to develop the health sector.

They emphasized the importance of localizing the local pharmaceutical industry and exploiting the capacity of the current factories in the production of medicine.
