Citizen killed, others injured in Sanaa gas cylinder explosion

A citizen was killed and three others, including two women, were injured on Monday, as a result of a cooking gas cylinder explosion in a house in the capital Sanaa.

According to the Civil Defense Authority’s statement, the cause of the explosion was as a result of the leakage of the cooking gas throughout the house, which is located in Dhahban neighborhood of Bani Al-Harith district.

The statement indicated that a authority’s team rushed to the site of the explosion for briefing on the causes the explosion of the gas tank, and extinguish the fire, which would have caused an unfortunate catastrophe that could damage the entire neighborhood.

It adding that the number of injured people, including two women, were taken to the hospital by the residents.

The statement held the gas and oil companies fully responsible as a result of their failure to comply with the law and order, and to grant licenses to establish gas tanks inside citizens’ homes without referring to the authority to study and fulfill public safety and security measures.
