Coalition postpones second round of negotiations on prisoners
The negotiating delegation in the government loyal to Saudi-led coalition postponed the second round of negotiations with Sanaa, which was expected after tomorrow, Monday, until the end of this month, pro-coalition media outlets said on Saturday.
The media sources tried to justify the short remaining period and the need to exchange visits to prisons.
The pro-coalition side had set May 15th as the date for the launch of the second round of prisoner negotiations, during which the parties aspired to release thousands of prisoners from both sides.
The decision to postpone came with the escalation of the US envoy in the file of negotiations, which indicates his country’s pressure to postpone it in order to achieve a special agenda.
