Ministry of Human Rights condemns bombing of residential neighbourhood in Gaza
The Ministry of Human Rights condemned the bombing of a residential neighbourhood in Palestine by the forces of the Zionist entity, which resulted in the martyrdom of 21 persons and the wounding of 20 others; Most of them are children and women.
In a statement received today by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the Ministry of Human Rights noted that this heinous and brutal crime is part of the Zionist entity’s ongoing war crimes against the Palestinian people and their historical and human rights, the targeting of their safe homes and the killing of children and women while they are sleeping.
The statement identified the bombing of safe and inhabited civilian housing areas and assassinations as war crimes and grave violations of the principles of international law, in particular the Fourth Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilian Populations and the Rome Charter establishing the International Criminal Court.
It stressed that the crime and its predecessors demonstrated the extent to which it had disintegrated and analysed its obligations under international law, and that its continued perpetration of grave and systematic violations of the rules of international humanitarian law further perpetuated the policy of impunity, lack of accountability.
The Ministry of Human Rights was deeply surprised by the decline in international and international reactions to this heinous crime and by the disregard by the American and Western media of the massacres of women and children committed by that entity.
It held responsible for these crimes the occupation, and Washington the entity’s global sponsor. Regretting the reversal by European courts of the application of international law provisions, and their assumption of American-British-Zionist pressure, which prevents the prosecution of Zionist war criminals.
Those shameful positions were seen as new evidence of double standards in dealing with international law and human rights issues and principles. Affirms its position in support of the Palestinian people’s rights and resistance to defend themselves and their land and their right to establish an independent State with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
The Ministry of Human Rights called on the international community and the United Nations Security Council to assume legal and moral responsibility and intervene to stop Zionist’s barbaric aggression against the Gaza Strip and the brotherly Palestinian people.
It called on the Security Council to impose deterrent sanctions on the Zionist criminal entity that usurped land and freedoms; daily killings, arrests and assassinations of civilians; In open war crimes against humanity… Calls upon Arab and Islamic States, as well as all human rights organizations and institutions, to awaken a true conscience, to enlist the human, moral and legal responsibility of the Palestinian people for the genocide and to pursue a policy of racial discrimination.
