Dengue fever ravages Taiz city, victims are increasing

A large number of citizens, including children, were infected with dengue fever epidemic, during the past days in the city of Taiz, southwest of Yemen.

Medical sources in Taiz said that hospitals in the city received a large number of citizens, including children who contracted fevers due to the outbreak of dengue fever and malaria in the city, without mentioning the number of deaths.

Sources confirmed that fever infections have exceeded 9,000 in the city since the beginning of this year.

In a related context, statistics issued by the health bureau affiliated with the government loyal to Saudi-led coalition said that there were 8,000 cases of dengue fever and malaria during the past four months.

This comes in light of the deterioration of health sector in Taiz due to the failure of pro- coalition authorities in the city to provide health services to citizens as their armed factions preoccupied with infighting over market levies.
