Discussing WFP’s interventions in Hajjah

A meeting in Hajjah province today, Thursday, discussed WFP’s interventions in the province.

The meeting, which included Allan Ali Fadayel, Director-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (SCMCHA) in Hajjah and the World Food Program, the office of Hajjah discussed the possibility of expanding the program’s interventions, in order to alleviate the displaced and affected people’s suffering in the province.

The meeting reviewed the food ration for the governorate and the reasons for stopping work on the cash-for-feeding project for the pregnant mother and child, which was implemented in Mubin district for two out of six sessions.

In the meeting, the Director of the Humanitarian Affairs Council, Hajjah, referred to the interventions and activities recently implemented in a number of province directorates related to cash for assets as well as cash for training, and their role in improving food security for beneficiaries.

Fadayel stressed the need to find urgent and permanent solutions to the issue of the deceased and absent replacements, who did not receive their share for more than three consecutive sessions, indicating that this would help accommodate some of the families whose names have been suspended on waiting lists for years.

He urged activating the program’s interventions in the flood damage and expanding its activities, due to its importance in dealing with the damage that befell hundreds of families at the level of the city, its countryside, and the camps for the displaced.

For his part, the Director of the World Food Program, Hajjah office, confirmed that what was discussed will be taken into consideration and translated into practical steps to contribute to alleviating part of the suffering of the people of the province.
