Citizens killed in Mahweet dam collapse

About four people were killed on Sunday when a dam collapsed in Hafash district of Mahweet province.

A local source in the province confirmed the collapse of Al-Aqabi Dam in the district as a result of heavy rains and the flow of torrents, which resulted in the death of four people.

The source pointed out that a rescue team of the Civil Defense Authority have continued to search for missing persons after the dam collapsed.

The team had announced in an urgent news about the explosion of the dam in the village of Beit Al-Hindi in the district, moving to the site of the accident.
