83 killed over 1126 wounded in Sudan fighting

The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that at least 83 people have been killed and more than 1,126 injured in Sudan as a result of the recent wave of violence.

“As fighting continues in Khartoum and other parts of Sudan, WHO urges all parties to the conflict to respect the neutrality of health care and ensure unfettered access to health facilities for those injured by the hostilities,” the WHO statement said.

WHO reminded all parties of their obligations under international humanitarian law to protect the wounded, sick, civilians, health-care workers, ambulances and health facilities.
