Sanaa gets surprised by Saudi delegation’s role as mediator
Deputy Prime Minister of the Sanaa Government for Defense and Security Affairs, Lieutenant General Jalal Al-Ruwaishan, was surprised from attempts of the Saudi delegation to show its role as mediator.
In a news statement on Tuesday, Al-Ruwaishan stressed that “Sanaa’s conditions for peace are clear and do not need shuttle dialogues,” which are summarized in just and legitimate rights as they are humanitarian entitlements.
He affirmed that the efforts by the Omani mediation are clear on the path towards peace.
“Sanaa’s conditions will not change, and we considered the presence of the Saudi delegation to Sanaa a courageous step and it must recognize the war on Yemen,” Al-Ruwaishan went on to say, adding that the leader of the Yemeni revolution has set clear guidelines for peace.
He pointed out that the coalition countries were supposed to take advantage of the opportunity to open Sanaa’s door to discuss the issue of peace, noting that negotiating to stop the war and lift the blockade must be discussed with the coalition countries and the political solution in Yemen.
“The international law prohibits interference in the affairs of states,” Al-Ruwaishan explained, “the coalition countries must realize that peace will only be achieved by stopping the war and lifting the blockade.”
