At least three killed due to Arkansas tornado

The death toll from the tornado that hit the US state of Arkansas has risen to three people, KFSM reported

Arkansas Governor Sarah Sanders said earlier that the state suffered “significant damage” after a tornado hit North Little Rock, injuring at least 600 people.

Sanders declared a state of emergency in the state and vowed that authorities would spare no resources to rebuild what was devastated by the tornado.

According to CBS, the impact of the largest tornado occurred in the central part of the state, specifically in the most populous Little Rock area and its suburbs, and one person was reported dead, and several homes were destroyed or damaged.

Mayor Frank Scott Jr. has requested support from Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and the Arkansas National Guard to assist with the emergency response.

According to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, 5 injured are in critical condition.
