Several water projects launched in Saada city
Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs – Minister of Finance, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, Minister of Water and Environment, Eng. Abdulraqeeb Al-Shurmani, and Governor of Saada province, Muhammad Jaber Awad, inaugurated on Tuesday a number of water projects in the city of Saada.
The inaugurated projects included the following:
– A project to drill seven water wells in the city of Saada, at a total cost of 38 million riyals, with self-financing, and the wells are distributed over several areas in Saada city.
– A project to supply, install and operate pumping units powered by solar energy for five water wells, at a total cost of 78 million riyals, with self-financing.
– A project to supply, install, and operate integrated pumping units powered by solar energy for well No. 26, with a total capacity of 59 watts, at a total cost of $110,000 dollars funded by UNICEF.
– Mahdha’s water project, which consists of the supply, installation and operation of integrated pumping units with solar energy for well No. 22 and a water network with a length of 19,850 meters, as well as the construction of a tower water tank with a capacity of 150 cubic meters and a control room at a total cost of $573,000 dollars, funded by UNICEF.
Dr. Abu Lahoum emphasized that the opening of water projects in Sa’ada province practically translates the directives of the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, to expand water wells to serve the largest segment of society.
For his part, the Minister of Water explained that the opening of water projects comes in the directives of the Revolutionary Leadership and the Supreme Political Council and the Ministry plan to expand water projects in the provinces.
In turn, the governor of Saada indicated that the inauguration of the water projects coincides with the anniversary of the martyr leader and the anniversary of the martyrdom of President Saleh al-Sammad, considering the inauguration of water projects an addition and a quantum leap for the water corporation in the province.
