Hungarian FM: Nord Stream Sabotage must be considered as terrorist attack

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that the explosions at the Nord Stream gas pipelines must be considered as a terrorist attack.

“Well, whatever happened at the Nord Stream pipeline, it is really scandalous. Because this is basically the first time when such a major European critical infrastructure was attacked – by whoever, but it was attacked. And such kind of an attack must be considered as a terrorist attack basically,” Szijjarto said.

The Hungarian minister stressed that his country supports a broad and detailed investigation of this incident.

“And we support a comprehensive, deep, structured and detailed investigation of what has happened. Regardless of who is initiating that, we do support all kinds of investigations, which bring the hope that we will come to know, who committed that and why,” Szijjarto said.

The Hungarian minister noted it was not important who would initiate the investigation.

On September 26, Russian gas transmission lines across the Baltic bottom, Northern Stream and Northern Stream-2, were blown up.

On February 8, the famous American journalist Seymour Hersh published an investigation accusing the US authorities of carrying out the sabotage

The journalist stated that it was based on intelligence information, which he said he obtained from one of those directly involved in preparing the bombing.
