Abdulsalam meets with Deputy Foreign Minister of Russian Federation in Muscat

The head of the national negotiating delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam, met Saturday evening at the Russian Embassy in Muscat with Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia and Special Representative of the President of Russia for the Middle East.

Mikhail is on a working visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

During the talks, the military, political and humanitarian situation in Yemen  were discussed in detail.

At the same time, the Russian side stressed the need to intensify efforts of all Yemeni political forces in order to ensure a sustainable and long-term ceasefire.

The Russian diplomat affirmed, “This will create a favorable environment for the establishment of a constructive and comprehensive negotiation process under the auspices of the United Nations for a comprehensive settlement of the crisis in Yemen to promote peace and security in the region as a whole.”
