PM hails Yemeni women’s roles in work fields, combating colonialism
The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor, on Saturday praised the roles played by Yemeni women in combating aggression and British colonialism and in various work and production fields.
This came when the Prime Minister met today with a number of woman leaders and workers in the government and community sectors.
The situation of women in ministries and government agencies and ways to enhance their roles as a partner to men in institutional building and development were discussed in the meeting.
The Prime Minister instructed the attendees to prepare a memorandum on the various issues that were raised by them and to submit it to the Cabinet to take whatever action it deems appropriate.
The meeting condemned the arrest of the Yemeni citizen, Marwa Abed Rabbo Hussein Al-Sabri, by the Saudi authorities while she was performing the rituals of Umrah, and sentencing her to prison after she was falsely accused of possessing bombs.
