South Korean authorities arrest 4 activists on charges of “anti-government”

South Korean authorities have arrested four activists accused of sponsoring anti-government activities in South Korea after allegedly receiving orders from North Korea, Yonhap reported.

The Seoul Central Court on Wednesday issued four arrest warrants for four activists on charges of violating the National Security Law, which prohibits calling for the overthrow of the Seoul government, citing possible attempts to destroy evidence and escape.

The investigation by public security authorities is expected to gain momentum, as authorities believe they organized an anti-government and pro-North Korean group in the country under orders from Pyongyang.

The National Intelligence Agency and the police agency broke into their homes and offices in November last year and were detained on January 28.
