PM meets UNFPA country representative in Yemen
The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor, met today, Wednesday, with the representative of the United Nations Population Fund in Yemen (UNFPA), Nestor Owumohangi, on the occasion of the end of his tenure.
Bin Habtoor praised the humanitarian role played by the UN Fund during this exceptional period, and its contribution to alleviating the Yemeni people’s suffering as a result of the aggression and siege.
He noted the fund’s interventions in assigning mother and childhood issues and supporting aspects of reproductive health and other areas related to its activity.
In turn, Owumohangi expressed his appreciation for the spirit of cooperation that prevailed in the Fund’s relations with various relevant government agencies throughout the past period of his presidency of the Fund’s office in Sana’a.
He explained that the Fund carries out its activities with complete impartiality and with great consideration for the vision of the beneficiaries regarding priority projects and programmes.
Owumohangi expressed his wishes that the Yemeni people would enjoy comprehensive peace in the near future.
