Expatriate Ministry condemns Al-Ali expatriate murder in Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of Expatriate Affairs condemned the murder of the Yemeni expatriate in Saudi Arabia, Ali Atef Al-Ali, at the hands of employees of the State Security Agency in Riyadh.
The ministry also condemned, in a statement, of which the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received a copy, the threats of the Saudi State Security Service to Al-Ali’s family and his relatives to prevent them from demanding an autopsy or obtaining a report on the crime.
The statement indicated that what the Saudi authorities did to kill the Yemeni expatriate residing in its lands with the intention of working was not new or strange to it, after it violated all international and humanitarian agreements, covenants and laws.
The Ministry also denounced the inhumane stances of the UN Security Council, calling on the United Nations and human rights organizations to take responsibility for the violations committed by the Saudi authorities against Yemenis residing on their lands, and to refer the perpetrators to trial.
It called on the International Committee of the Red Cross to compel the Saudi authorities to respect international humanitarian law, especially with regard to civilians residing on its territory who are covered by international protection.
