Protestors Threatening to Resort to Military Action, Oust Foreign Forces from Southern Province
Al-Mahara Sit-in Committee threatened to resort to military action if foreign forces did not respond with peaceful action.
This came during the committee’s meeting, Tuesday, headed by Sheikh Ali Al-Huraizi, head of the committee, to discuss developments and current events in the governorate. The committee, which includes major tribal, political and social figures of al-Mahra, whom are against foreign presence, affirmed adherence to the exit of foreign forces and rejection of efforts to drag the province into chaos.
The meeting stressed working as a team behind the head of the peaceful sit-in committee, and achieving the desired goals, namely the exit of all foreign forces from the province.
The meeting pointed out that “the departure of foreign forces from Al-Mahra Governorate is the goal of the peaceful sit-in committee,” warning that, “If these forces do not respond with peaceful action, the sit-in committee is ready for military action to achieve the committee’s goals.”
The meeting came a day after Saudi Arabia decided to appoint one of the STC militia as commander of the Al-Ghaydah military axis, as part of a plan aimed at handing over the Al-Mahra Governorate, located at the intersection of the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, to the militia affiliated with the UAE.
Earlier, Sheikh Ali Salem Al-Huraizi, head of the Al-Mahra sit-in committee, revealed that a leader of the so-called “Southern Transitional Council” backed by the UAE sold Qishn port to the Saudi occupation, pointing out that the people of Mahra will not waste an inch of their land.
He pointed out that the people of Mahra do not recognize the so-called “Presidential Leadership Council”, because this council was appointed by the Saudi and Emirati occupation, and they do not recognize “legitimacy”, considering that it is the legitimacy of the people.
He pointed out that the struggle of the people of Mahra during the past years led to the withdrawal of the occupation for more than 90% of its forces, saying: “The people of Mahra will soon control the wealth of their land and ports,”.
He had confirmed, Friday, that the UAE is receiving Israelis in Socotra, and that it has controlled the island of Socotra since June 2020 through its arms represented by the separatist transitional militia.
Recently, the head of the Al-Mahra sit-in committee, Sheikh Ali Salem Al-Huraizi, confirmed that the next stage of the national struggle is the most serious, directing the confrontation with the Saudi occupation and its mercenaries.
Sheikh Al-Huraizi made it clear during his meeting with the leaders of the Peaceful Sit-in Committee in Qishn District and a number of social leaders in the district, Thursday, that the people of Mahra are able to defeat all invaders projects, calling on everyone to prepare for the next stage.
He pointed out that Al-Mahra has become strong and that the time of humiliation and weakness is over, pointing out that the free people of Al-Mahra and Yemen have thwarted many foreign plans and conspiracies against Yemen, for all free people in the struggle, rejecting the occupying arrogance of the US-Saudi aggression.
Sheikh Al-Huraizi ridiculed the so-called “Saudi reconstruction” project, and what he promoted about the opening of Al-Ghaydah Airport dozens of times, stressing that everyone knows that the airport is still a military barracks and prisons, and the people of Mahra are deprived of it.
Southern governorates are witnessing security chaos, and almost daily crimes, under the control of the forces of US-Saudi aggression and Saudi-Emirati occupation. They witness increasing of assassinations involving military security leaders, religious and social tendencies, kidnapping, bombings and clashes between militants fighting for influence among them.
The United Nations has confirmed that the security chaos in the southern governorates has become a source of concern for humanitarian workers. Deputy Director of Operations, Ghada Mudawi, assured the Security Council that the lack of security is a source of concern for workers, who are increasingly trying to steal cars, kidnappings and other attacks.
