Parliament directs government to adopt suffering of students on scholarships abroad
The Parliament on Monday approved the report of the joint committee of the Higher Education, Youth and Sports Committees, and Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on the suffering of students on scholarships studying abroad.
This came after the commitment of the competent government side, represented by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education for the Missions and Cultural Relations Sector, Dr. Abdulkarim Al-Roudhi, and in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Muhammad Hajar, to implement the following recommendations:
1- The National Salvation Government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the national negotiating delegation, should adopt the suffering of Yemeni students, raise and escalate it through the United Nations and its relevant organizations and the countries interested in Yemeni affairs to pressure the mercenary government to expedite the payment of the dues of all students on scholarship in various countries world and past tuition fees.
2- The Salvation Government, through the Ministry of Information, should work through various official and civil media messages to shed light on the scholarship students’ suffering caused by the mercenary government, which shirked its responsibilities and focused its attention on looting revenues in partnership with the aggression countries without regard for the suffering of Yemeni people, including students on scholarships studying in a number of countries around the world.
3- The Salvation Government, through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Expatriate Affairs, should communicate as much as possible with Yemen’s educational missions to follow up on the problems facing Yemeni students and pressure to address them quickly and continuously.
4- The Salvation Government represented by the Prime Minister and the relevant ministries, when meeting with international organizations or any missions of ambassadors and others, should raise the issue of Yemeni students on scholarships abroad and the importance of putting pressure on the mercenary government to pay their dues from the people’s funds that it loot daily from oil, gas and other revenue streams.
