UAE forces push new reinforcements to Aden
UAE have pushed on Wednesday new military reinforcements to the city of Aden, south of Yemen, for the first time since Abu Dhabi announced the withdrawal of its forces in July 2019.
Sources familiar with the matter stated that the Emirati forces would take over the tasks of protecting the Maashiq Presidential Palace instead of the factions affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and stationed there.
The sources indicated that the redeployment of Emirati forces in Aden came based on a consensus within the “Riyadh-formed Presidential Council” in order to restore the the Council,” which most of its members refuse to return to the city under the pretext that the “STC” factions control the province and the decisions of the “Presidential Council.”
in July 2019, the UAE had announced the withdrawal of its forces from southern Yemen, specifically Aden, with the Saudi forces handing over the city, followed by the UAE pushing factions loyal to it to blow up the situation there and abort any efforts to stabilize stability.
