In a new slip of the tongue, US President Joe Biden said claimed his son Beau -who died from brain cancer in 2015- actually died in Iraq.
He noted that the US soldiers, who later participated in World War II and worked against German troops, were trained in Colorado.
“American soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division scaled that 1800-foot cliff at night, caught the Germans by surprise, captured key positions, and broke through the German defense line at a pivotal point in the war,” Biden said. “Just imagine, and I say this as a father of a man who won the Bronze Star, the conspicuous service medal, and lost his life in Iraq. Imagine the courage, the daring, and the genuine sacrifice — the genuine sacrifice they all made.”
The eldest son of the current US. president, Beau, served in Iraq from 2008 to 2009, and died in 2015, at the age of 46, from brain cancer after being hospitalized in the United States.
Joe Biden has previously stated that his son’s cancer may have been caused by exposure to toxic substances emitted during the incineration of waste at US military facilities, including in Iraq.
