Tribal sheikh Kidnapped in Lahj

Armed tribesmen of Al-Sabaiha tribes have kidnapped one of the tribal sheikhs in Yemen’s southern province of Lahj, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition forces.

A statement issued by ‘Al-Aziba’ tribe in Tuban district confirmed that yesterday, Tuesday, gunmen from Al-Sabaiha kidnapped Sheikh Emad Abdulhamid Al-Azibi, with one of his companions, and wounded a third person named Abdulrazzaq Al-Bari, who was next to the kidnapper, as a result of shooting by the kidnappers in front of Al-Azibi’s house.

Tthe kidnapping of Sheikh Al-Azibi comes against the backdrop of killing Sheikh Atef Najib Al-Subaihi on Monday, and he was convicted by the Al-Aziba tribe in the event that one of its sons was proven to be behind the killing of Al-Subaihi.

Al-Azaiba tribes statement called on the local authorities in the province to intervene to release Sheikh Al-Azibi so as not to escalate the strife.
