Iranian FM: It is wrong for any party to send arms to either Ukraine or Russia

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has stated that Tehran does not support either side of the conflict in Ukraine and sees it as a wrong to send weapons to Kiev or Moscow.

His remarks came as an answer of a question during an interview with Al-Al-Monitor about allegations that Iran has delivered drones to Russia.

The Iranian minister said: We have an agreement to have defense cooperation with Russia. But we are not supporting either side in the Ukrainian war that will result in the continuation of the war.

“ We are strongly opposed to any kind of war, whether it is in Ukraine or in Yemen, or in Palestine. And we have also been involved in endeavors to bring about peace and ceasefire in Ukraine,” Hossein Amirabdollahian said.

He added, “We believe it is wrong for any party to send arms to either Ukraine or Russia. And we’re going to keep helping the political dialogue and the resolution of this crisis through political talks.”

Earlier, Moscow commented on US press reports on allegations that Iran has delivered Iranian drones to Russia, saying that the US media “injects too much misinformation.”
