Chilean activist organizes exhibition on coalition crimes against Yemenis

Chilean activist Connie De Witt has continued activities in support of the Yemeni people’s resistance against Saudi-led aggression coalition, despite of Chile police’s repression and harassment.

On Friday, De Witt organized an exhibition of photographs in Santiago, the capital of Chile, showing the bloody reality of the ongoing war and aggression on Yemen led by Saudi Arabia with the support of the US and UK.

“The exhibition was not successful because of the Carabiniers of Chile (the Chilean national law enforcement police). Over 20 police officers came to me and asked me to remove the pictures. They screamed without any justification,” Chilean activist Connie De Witt said in a tweet on her twitter account.

She added, the police threatened me with detention for being on public roads.

“It was a very unpleasant moment to show the reality of Yemen that is at war and Yemeni children are the most affected by the war and they die because of the blockade,” she said.

“The police cannot touch me because of I am the most famous activist who is talking about Yemen’s human rights in my country,”  she stated.

“I am not alone; all the national and international press stand by my side.”

Connie De Witt indicated that the people who were walking along the sidewalk helped her in removing the photographs.

She said that she is planning to organize an exhibition of photographs for Yemen in Fridays.

The US-backed Saudi-led coalition has been waging an aggression on Yemen since March 26, 2015. The aggression have killed thousands of children and women of Yemen and target public and civil objects and facilities, in a flagrant violation of the international law.
