Complete power outage hits Aden city amid fears of summer heat

The southern Yemeni city of Aden on Saturday has witnessed a complete power outage due to the decommissioning of the electricity stations.

Local residents said one of the power companies had turned off its 30-megawatt plant, causing power outage to most of Aden’s districts.

The company attributed the suspension of the electricity supply to the continued procrastination of the coalition-backed government in its financial obligations accumulated for more than two years.

The power outage has caused discontent and anger among citizens who are suffering greatly as a result of the escalation of crises in the city.

The cessation of energy companies from providing their services would lead to power outages for long hours, turning the summer of Aden into a hell and exacerbating the suffering of residents, especially during the month of Ramadan, when citizens need it most.
