UNICEF water interventions discussed in capital’s secretariat

The Director of the Water and Sanitation Foundation of Capital Secretariat Mohammed al-Shami, discussed Friday with Hannan Sulieman UNICEF Deputy Executive Director, the organization’s water interventions and support for the Foundation.

The meeting, which brought together UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa Adele Khader, also discussed the possibility of funding the organization to implement future projects to provide water and sanitation services to citizens.

Executive Director Sulieman was briefed on the progress of the water network project in the Al-Frusiyah neighborhood of Hezyaz, implemented by the secretariat’s local water institution with the support of UNICEF, which will benefit some 45 thousand citizens.

Al-Shami noted that UNICEF should continue to support the provision of diesel and alternative energy for the operation of water wells in the Capital Secretariat to ensure that UNICEF continues to provide its services to citizens.
