Final preparations for restarting Bajil Cement Factory reviewed

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Finance Rashid Abu Luhum, along with Minister of Industry and Trade Mohammed al-Mutahar and Governor of Hodeida Mohammed Qahim on Tuesday inspected the final preparations for restarting Bajil Cement Factory and the new expansion project for the factory affiliated with the Yemen Cement Industry and Marketing Corporation.

Abu Luhum, al-Mutahar and Qahim listened from head of the Yemeni Cement Manufacturing and Marketing Corporation Qassem Al-Wadeai an explanation of the final stages of completing the equipment for restarting the factory as well as the updates that the production lines, expansion, operation and work mechanism in the factory witnessed to cover the needs of the local market.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed the government’s interest in developing the factory to raise its production capacity to reach the maximum production capacity and to improve the quality of production.

For his part, the Minister of Industry said that the factory was a national economic fortress that had been subjected to a lot of neglect during the previous years, adding that local cadres had proven their superiority over foreign cadres despite the aggression and siege on Yemen.

Minister al-Mutahhar affirmed that the ministry will work to provide support and facilities and overcome difficulties for the return of the production process as well as support all national industries, especially those dependent on local raw materials.

He urged the continuation of work development and continuous updating, whether in the production or marketing process.
