56 killed, 18 missing due to flash floods in Iran
At least 53 people have been killed while 16 people were still missing due to recent flash floods in different Iranian provinces, said Mehdi Vallipour, head of the Relief and Rescue Organization of the Iranian Red Crescent Society on Friday.
He added: From July 23rd to date, flash floods swept through 21 provinces in the country and the most affected provinces were Lorestan, Tehran, Yazd and Isfahan as well as Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province
Heavy rains that began a few days ago and continue in some areas of Iran have led to floods in some rivers.
Flash floods have caused significant material damage to housing units, installations and roads, in addition to temporary power outages in some areas and the cutting off some roads, particularly in villages and rural areas.
