The Shura Council strongly condemned on Tuesday the heinous crime committed by the Saudi border guards against defenseless citizens of Saada province, which resulted in the killing and wounding of 17 citizens.
A statement issued by the Council condemned the Saudi-led coalition’s continued violation of the armistice signed under the auspices of the United Nations, with the aim of undermining it and evading compliance with its terms.
The statement held the coalition countries legally responsible for all the willful killings committed by their forces against innocent citizens.
The Council called on the United Nations and its envoy to Yemen to adopt a positive attitude towards these war crimes and the violations against the Yemeni people.
The statement also deplored the fact that the so-called “Al-Amaliq forces” backed by the coalition had demolished the historic Al-Noor Mosque in Al-Qataba village of Al-Khokha district in Hodeida province.
The Council’s statement appealed to all international organizations concerned with preserving Islamic heritage, led by UNESCO, to move seriously and work to protect mosques, monuments and historical monuments.
