Ministry of Fisheries condemns displacement of AbdulKuri Island Residents
The Ministry of Fisheries has perpetrated forced displacement of residents of AbdulKuri Island by the US-Saudi-UAE Aggression Coalition, eviction from their homes, and displacement elsewhere.
The Ministry of Fisheries, in a statement received by SABA, condemned the aggression coalition’s displacement of the island people, the most important island of the Socotra archipelago, in preparation for its transformation into a United Arab Emirates military base under American Zionist hegemonic powers.
It called for the aggression coalition forces to leave all Yemeni territories, islands, and coasts and not to displace citizens from their homes or bulldoze their authentic Yemeni identity.
It blamed Security Council, the United Nations, and its humanitarian and human rights organizations for the forced displacement of the people of AbdulKuri Island. Calling upon the world’s freedom to act seriously and to stand up to the heinous crimes to which the people of Yemen are subjected, including the displacement of the people of the Yemeni islands occupied by the aggression coalition states.
The Ministry of Fisheries called on UNESCO and environmental protection organizations to carry out their duty regarding the looting of the Socotra archipelago and the destruction of its natural and marine environment and the unique vegetation cover that characterizes the archipelago and is listed on the World Heritage List.
It stressed the right to prosecute the aggression coalition states for crimes and violations.
