Pro-coalition government concludes rotten wheat deal
The government loyal to Saudi-led coalition on Monday agreed to conclude a deal to buy a large amount of “rotten” wheat.
This comes in the wake of the Minister of Planning’s statement regarding the depletion of wheat stocks, despite the government’s confirmation a few weeks ago that it had enough stocks for 6 months.
Southern media revealed that head of the pro-coalition government Maeen Abdulmalik had approved the import of 500,000 tons of wheat during the next three months, noting that the deal he approved included buying a rotten Indian wheat shipment that Egypt had previously rejected due to the high level of chemicals in it.
