Seven bodies charred after tanker truck laden with gas catches fire in Abyan
A huge fire broke out Saturday after a tanker truck laden with gas overturned and caught fire on a highway in Abyan province, southern Yemen.
The fire broke out because of the overturning of the tanker, driven by a 22-year-old man from Marib province and he was charred inside the truck, police in Abyan province said.
Seven people died, their bodies were charred while one person was seriously injured, the police added.
Police explained that the fire spread to a nearby car with seven persons onboard from lawdar district in Abyan province, six of whom died and one person was injured and was rushed to a hospital in Aden governorate.
Police indicated that the charred bodies had been handed over to relatives of the deceased.
