Al-Hamali discusses with humanitarian coordinator of Netherlands cooperation
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Coordination and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamali, discussed on Sunday the humanitarian coordinator of the embassy in Yemen, Martin Van Derdos, the cooperation between Yemen and Netherlands in humanitarian and distinctive region.
The meeting, in the presence of the Head of the International Cooperation Department, Ali Al-Kahlani, reviewed the mechanisms of joint coordination in the humanitarian and development aspects and work to alleviate the human suffering experienced by Yemeni people as a result of the aggression and siege.
Al-Hamali stressed the importance donors’ role in the conduct of humanitarian operations in light of the worsening conditions that Yemeni people are going through as a result of the aggression. He pointed to the role of the Humanitarian Affairs Council in providing facilities to organizations and workers in the relief and humanitarian field in all its aspects.
He also stressed the need to focus on priority projects in the humanitarian, service and development fields to contribute to alleviating human suffering.
He called for the opening of Dutch Development Cooperation Office in Sana’a to supervise the interventions and activities financed by them, stressing the readiness of the Supreme Council to provide all necessary facilities for the office and its employees.
For its part, the Humanitarian Coordinator at the Dutch Embassy affirmed keenness to continue implementing programs and projects in support of Yemen and Yemenis, and to strengthen aspects of coordination, cooperation and partnership with the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs.
