The Afghan Ministry of Interior announced that an explosion occurred in a mosque in the capital, Kabul, Wednesday evening, killing 5 people and wounding 10.
Afghan media quoted the ministry as saying: “The bomb was planted inside a fan in the mosque, and no group has yet claimed responsibility for the bombing.”
Activists published a video clip from inside the mosque that was targeted.
Earlier, at least 9 people were killed when 3 minibuses were targeted by bombs in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif on Wednesday, police said.
The number of attacks across the country has decreased since the Taliban seized power in August 2021, but several cities witnessed bombings during Ramadan and continued after the holy month.
