Hodeida local authority condemns kidnapping of 18 fishermen off Honaish, Zaqr islands
The local authority in Hodeidah province has condemned the kidnapping of 18 fishermen off the islands of Honaish al-Kobra and Zaqr in the Red Sea by the Saudi-UAE Aggression navy, the confiscation of their boats and fishing equipment and means.
A statement received by Saba on Sunday condemned the continued attacks on fishermen and the confiscation of their property. It noted that this crime, and the previous crimes and violations against fishermen, represent war crimes against humanity that do not fall under the statute of limitations.
The statement blamed the Saudi and UAE states for all violations and crimes suffered by fishermen, as well as damage and losses to the fish sector.
The local authority in the province called on the United Nations, the Security Council, and international organizations to take a stand against this crime and the previous crimes against fishermen and to hold the perpetrators accountable, as crimes against humanity are criminalized by international laws and conventions.
