Reaction to Humanitarian Crisis in Yemen Real Indicator of Success of UN Truce

The Supreme Political Council held a meeting, Saturday, headed by Mahdi Al-Mashat, Chairman of the Council, to discuss the current developments on the national arena regarding the truce announced by the UN.

The Meeting stressed the necessity of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to lifting the blockade, removing all obstacles to the arrival of ships to the port of Hodeidah and opening Sana’a International Airport, considering that this is the entrance to dealing with the rest of the issues.

It confirmed that the Yemeni people are not concerned with illegal measures issued by an illegal party outside the country, and that these measures have nothing to do with Yemen or its interests, and it is not related to peace in any way.

The Supreme Political Council praised the awareness of the Yemeni people, who have become aware of all the conspiracies the US-Saudi  aggression is hatching to undermine their will, steadfastness, and the sacrifices they made for the homeland.

The Supreme Political Council reiterated its firm stance towards peace, as it is the natural right of Yemeni steadfastness, and that there have not yet been clear indications of the existence of real intentions to bring it into Yemen by the countries of aggression.

The Meeting emphasized that the correct dialogue in the beginning is with the US-Saudi aggression and that the humanitarian issue and the lifting of the siege take precedence over the military and political aspects, and that this issue is the real indicator of the trend towards the success of the truce.

The Supreme Political Council affirmed that it seeks by all means to alleviate the suffering of the citizens, stressing that the continuation of obstacles to the arrival of ships of fuel doubles their suffering and that the UN and the US-Saudi aggression held the responsible for that.

The Meeting also touched on the importance of the role of government institutions that work to alleviate the suffering of citizens, urging the various state institutions to redouble their efforts and sense their responsibility, especially during the month of Ramadan.

The Supreme Political Council of the army, the people’s committees, the missile force and the drones blessed their great efforts, and urged them to be fully vigilant, Calling for the release of the prisoners on the occasion of the month of Ramadan.
