Senior poet killed in Shabwa

A prominent poet was killed on Friday in mysterious circumstances, in the city of Ataq of Shabwa province.

local sources in the city reported that the poet Younis al-Bakir, who works as a teacher at Hanishan High School, was killed by a bullet that was described as stray, which led to his death.

Some sources indicated that he had been shot dead by gunmen belonging to the security forces, while others believed that he was killed while passing on the street during clashes that took place between tribal gunmen.
