Hodeida fishermen warn of fishing nets imported from Israeli entity

Dozens of fishermen of the fishing port in the city of Hodeida have warned of the dangers of using plastic Israeli fishing nets.

The fishermen affirmed, in a protest rally was organized on Sunday at the Fish Landing Center, that the transparent Israeli nets are eroding the fish wealth, which negatively affects the fish stock.

They emphasized that those nets with narrow openings do not disintegrate and get stuck in coral reefs and trap fish, which are forced to migrate due to the smell resulting from the death of fish.

Meanwhile, director of the Fishing Landing Center, Majed Al-Mansour, demanded the prevention of importing any kind of nets that threaten the marine environment and harm fish wealth.
